Top Gear’s Jeremy Clarkson has previously shared his positive thoughts on the C7 Corvette Stingray, and now his peers at Top Gear Magazine have handed down the same respect to the 2015 Corvette Z06. In the publication’s new Awards issue, the Z06 has won “Muscle Car of the Year 2014”, in addition to be being named Clarkson’s personal Car of the Year for 2014.
When Top Gear drove the Z06, they claimed “go to the outer edge of your personal comfort zone, and the Z06 will meet you there. It’ll trade blows with the best that AMG, BMW, Ferrari or Porsche has to offer, on the trickiest tracks in the world. It’ll make you feel like a million dollars, but costs a fraction of that. America has a new hero.”
Clarkson’s conclusion was a little less heartwarming, as expected, but he still picked it as his favorite new car of 2014, which speaks volumes. His TV co-hosts James May and Richard Hammond picked the $1.9 million LaFerrari and $845,000 Porsche 918 Spyder.
