Snowcrest White w/Red interior, 283/245hp, Powerglide automatic.

If you take a poll on what is the most interesting year Corvette, the ’58 will likely come up more times than not. The ’58 was a milestone car for a number of reasons. It was the third body redesign since the cars inception in ’53. The car was longer and wider, sporting dual headlights for the first time. Because of its increased interior dimensions, most adults of average size could fit in it. A major plus, to be sure! Drivetrains were basically carried over from ’57 with plenty of choices from a base 283 with 230hp and a single 4bbl carb all the way up to a 290hp Fuelie! Another aspect of the ’58 that made it unique was its exterior trip. The ’50’s were there era of excess when it came to American cars and Corvette was no exception. Some considered the “gingerbread” on the car to be a bit excessive, so, the chrome trunk spears and louvered hood were discontinued after only one year make the ’58 Corvette a “one year only” design.

This beautiful example came to us from a large West Coast collection. It was restored back in the ’90’s but still shows like a much more recent resto. It features a correct 245hp 283ci with dual 4bbl carbs and hydraulic lifters and a Powerglide automatic transmission. Only a limited of these 245’s came with automatics, so it’s a fairly rare and desirable set up. The color combination of Snowcrest White w/Silver coves and Red interior is classic Corvette and complements the car perfectly along with its matching White soft top and wide Whitewall tires. This is a head turning cruiser in every sense of the word! Stk #5800.
