The world is moving towards an electric-powered vehicle future, but at least for now, Chevrolet is willing to keep advancing the Gas-Powered Corvette engine. Yesterday, Chevy announced the new C8 Z06 powered by the totally new 5.5-liter, naturally aspirated, flat plane crank, V8, dubbed LT6.
The LT6 has the highest red-line of any production motor GM has produced, a staggering 8,600 RPM and produces 670 hp @ 8,400 rpm, 460 pound-feet of torque @ 6,300 rpm and propels the Z06 from 0-60 in just 2.6 seconds.
No pricing has been announced as of this email.

What Mike Likes about this Corvette:
“There is nothing like driving a top down triple black Corvette.
This ultra-low mileage Z51 triple black convertible is loaded with goodies and represents the ultimate performance package offered during the introduction of the C7 Corvette for 2014. Bad to the bone! Fully serviced, detailed test driven by myself personally and attested to that she is something special. C7’s are hot and there’s a large number of us who still enjoy the styling and classical historical significance of having a Chevy V8 upfront!
After all it’s what’s upfront that counts!! And what’s behind us doesn’t really matter, now does it Mustangs!!!”
New a-c and a newly rebuilt engine
The original owner of this very nice example did decide to take advantage of RPO C60 along with RPO L79 and ended up with a rare and highly desirable ’66 Coupe! The engine in this one was recently rebuilt and has only break-in miles. And although this is a factory a-c car, the previous owner chose to replace the factory compressor with a modern unit from Vintage Air. With that modification, you now have air conditioning that actually blows cold!
